Studio Update: Week of 11/10- 11/16

This week Molly and I had our space lab show. This week was so exhausting truthfully, it was just a very tight turn around for install and de-install. We have been so excited about this show for months. Molly and I talk about a lot of very similar themes within our work though people may not see it from a glance since aesthetically our work is very different. We treated the space lab show as a trial run for this same show that will be in a gallery in Louisville in January. We taught ourselves to make our own removable wallpaper! I only almost cried 3 times when it came time to remove it. The show seemed to really impact a lot of people and we were very proud of what we were able to accomplish. We installed on Sunday, Monday, and Tuesday. We showed from Wednesday to Saturday. We de-installed on Sunday.

Also this week I taught a workshop for a convention of educators. Within a 3 hour workshop I taught everyone all about sgraffito and faux mishima. I prepped a PowerPoint talk as well as 60 tiles for everyone to use. The workshop went so well and it left me feeling very affirmed in my ability to teach people things! Maybe I will go to grad school and teach after all... who's to say.
