Studio Update: Week of 10/20-10/26/24
This was one of those weeks where there was so much to do outside of my own studio practice that I had no time to devote to actually making my own work. On Monday I drove some work over to Evansville for a show. The museum was closed that day so I got to deliver my work through the back loading dock, which felt kind of cool and sneaky (consider it a romanticized high end art deal in my head). It's always so funny to drive work a couple hours out for a show and then have it take two seconds to drop off.
The rest of the week consisted of prepping for the market that the Dirtbags were participating in over the weekend. We were running down to the wire so the bisque and glaze kiln for this market were all fired this week. On Tuesday I mixed up a bunch of cone 6 glazes for everyone to use on the market work. On Thursday I got all the binders and information together for the back end side of the sale. I also organized everything that would be making the trip out. On Friday I went out to the site to help get the booth and tent set up. The sale went okay, It could have been better but it could have been worse. It was a two day event and I took the first shift on Saturday morning before I had to leave for work. If anything, this sale showed that Dirtbags needs to invest in a couple of display things that will make our lives a whole lot easier if we plan to do more events like this. At the top of the list would be nice table cloths and some nice display shelves. Most of the proceeds from this sale went to replenishing

the Dirtbags funds.
